Several months ago I picked up tickets with friends to see Kristin Chenoweth in concert New Year's Eve. I'm one of those people that think that New Year's Eve is normally over-rated along with Valentines Day. Both of these are expected to be big spectacular days and if you aren't doing something amazing that then you are somehow sub-standard. I guess getting tickets was my guarantee that this year I wasn't going to be sub-standard. :)
I first came to know who Kristin Chenoweth was when I became familiar with the musical, Wicked, several years ago. She played the original Glenda and because quite well-known for the song Popular. I later went on to enjoy her on Pushing Daisies, Glee and GCB.
It was a fun evening with friends (Ty, Bryant, Braden, Erik, and "The Other Brian"). We hit the Park City's Main Street Pizza & Noodle which was delicious and a TON of food. Then it was off to the Eccles Center to see the show.
In concert she sang Popular and I just happened to be recording it. It was awesome because she just happened to forget the lyrics. She was super funny acknowledging the mess up and I got it all recorded. Check it out below.
She was super entertaining the whole even and I made me love her just that much more. Here's another of the songs I recorded called The Prayer (Bring Him Home) from "The Misfits" (aka Les Miserables).
