Highway to Hale 5K

Last week was the big Ragnar race for me. What better way to recover from that then to do another race, right? So when Ty asked me to join, I figured why not. I hadn't run all week. I surprised myself on my time. I finished in 27:58 minutes. The first place in my age division was 27:37. I really should have just pushed a little harder. Oh well. It was good to "get back on the horse" again.

By the way the race was to help support the Hale Center Theater in Orem. Since the course goes down to the highway and back up to the Hale Center Theater, it was called "Highway to Hale." I know. Clever!

Team Hot & Ready - Las Vegas Ragnar

I did it! I ran my first Ragnar Relay race! 188 miles. 28.5 hours. 12 guys. I was runner 9 of 12. I ran 12.9 of the 188 miles in 3 different legs (3.1, 4.2, & 5.6 miles) We started at 7am Friday Oct 21st and ran until Oct 22nd after noon. I got a total of 3 hours sleep. Maybe I didn't push it as hard as I should have because I didn't even feel pain after this one like I did after Red Rock Moab. What's next? :)

Van 2: Steve, Erik, Curt, Andy,Nate, & Brian

Life Changing Lip Balm

You know how when you go on a trip there is always something (or a few things) that you forget? Well this time I forgot my much beloved Carmex and Vegas is dry! So given my first chance I was about to purchase a new supply. That is when I was stopped by my friend Kyle who informed me that if I bought EOS lip balm, "It will change your life!" I bought the "summer fruit." I'm not sure that it's had the level of change that I was expecting from his rave reviews but I will say this, I like it and its much better than digging my finger in my Carmex to apply it. I'll keep you posted on any big life changes because it might be due to my new lip balm. In the meantime I think I'll try some of the other varieties.

Zombie Meetup

As I have mentioned before, I belong to a meetup group called ProvoCreative Models/Photographers Group. This month the theme was zombies and two Saturdays ago we traveled out to the Salt Flats in western Utah to take photographs. These are some of the photos that I took. You can more of my work on www.borupphotography.com.

I had never been out there for photos. It was a long drive but well worth it. I brought my friend Tim along for some company and snapped some photos of him while we were there.

Hacking the Hackers

About a year ago I had a conversation on Facebook with a friend of mine who I basically had not talked to since I had added him a year earlier. He informed me how he was in England and had been mugged. After chatting for a while I quickly realized that his account had been hacked. I said something to the hackers and immediately the hackers had blocked me.

So today when my cousin's niece started chatting with me and telling me a similar story I decided to have a little more fun with it. See our conversation.
